ANCIENT BATTLE ARMOR
Simple Greek armor There is some magnificent armor shown in Greek art, but the average soldier had to make do with something less impressive. His neck, head and chest, as well as the top of his thighs, were his most vulnerable areas, and armor was designed to protect them. No Israelite armor has been discovered, but the illustration above shows the sort of protection a soldier had in mid-1st-millennium BC warfare.
