These buildings, originally designed as storerooms for the Northern Palace, were adapted by the Zealots for use as living quarters. They built makeshift walls dividing the long rooms into smaller ones, suitable for a single family.

When the time came to die, each head of a Zealot family was responsible for killing the members of his own family. Their deaths probably occurred within these rooms.
